Izumi usually wears her hair in a high side ponytail on her right side, with her bangs loose. When she does let her hair down, it goes just past her shoulders.

Izumi tends to be a natural leader, able to approach and converse with people easily. She likes to make sure everyone is having a good time, and can also be a bit flirty. As a teenager, much of this personality was a mask used to keep others from getting too close emotionally, but as Izumi matures she becomes more willing to relate to people on a deeper level.

Story

Izumi Kawano grew up with her mother and brother, as her father left when she was young. This early trauma led to Izumi growing up with the idea that love was conditional, and so she became perfectionistic and competitive. This stunted her emotional growth until her late teenage years, when she finally came to realize that relationships weren’t that shallow. During university, she eventually traded the role of the volleyball star player to be a coach and manager for a small-time volleyball club for young adults. While she’s still learning to open up to others, she’s become more comfortable with herself after accepting that she can have flaws.

Note: The details of Izumi’s life vary across the different world states (storylines) of the games she appears in. Some common traits are:

• Becoming friends with Himeka, Kiyomi, and a few other girls during high school at Solana Academy.
• Moving to Akiramine to attend university and get a job.
• Making mistakes in her relationships (with friends or lovers) until she realizes and acknowledges her family trauma.
• Coming to accept herself as someone with flaws that is still valuable despite those flaws.
