Blackstar Squad
The Argent Republic has always been at war. Seeking to revive the glory of an empire fading into history, the nation ruthlessly attempts to conquer its neighbors and restore ancient borders, even as it shuns more and more of the cultures that once gave it strength. Military service is mandatory in the republic, with many rights only granted to those who have fought for the glory of the nation.
Commander Hilda is the leader of Blackstar Squad, a special forces unit in the republic. Given advanced equipment and extra privileges, Blackstar seems to be a shining example of the republic's potential to reward martial excellence. But under the surface lies a different story; each of the squad's members are misfits rejected by more traditional units, and many of them distrust the senate that governs the republic. Struggling between duty and conscience in a paranoid society at war with itself, the only people these women can rely on is each other.
