It’s been a while, with the last update being the release of Life as Designed. I’ve not gotten as much done as I’d have liked in the last few months, but I do have some exciting news and teasers to share.
Books
The first major update to bring up is that my stories are leaving Kindle Unlimited, in favor of being brought to other storefronts through Draft2Digital. The Red-Haired Maiden has already concluded its Kindle exclusivity, and should now be available on almost every storefront and library service that Draft2Digital publishes to. When the exclusivity period ends for the other stories, they will likely follow suit.

The Red-Haired Maiden
As part of this move, I’m also working on combining the short stories (Those That Linger: GhostSense, The Decision, and Family) into a single book, with the working title “Petals Fallen From Nightshade”. I’m also considering adding an afterward with some notes on inspirations and how the stories connect to the rest of the setting. If I end up writing more short stories set in the Nightshade universe, I think having a framework like this could work well, with each collection having the same overall title (Petals Fallen From Nightshade) with a volume number or subtitle.

While I wait for the exclusivity deal with Amazon to run out, I’ve also been looking into the possibility of paperback versions of the books. While nothing is finalized yet, it’s fun to see how the books might look in physical form.

Lastly, while the second story set in Kigenishi is still a bit stuck, there is a book I’ve been working on that may be nearly ready for a reveal. The story itself is fully drafted and will soon go into the revision stage. I don’t want to announce it completely until it’s closer to finished (to hopefully avoid a Life as Designed scenario), but it’s getting closer to a reveal...

Games
With Life as Designed getting little attention since its release last year, I will likely have to postpone most of my game ideas for the near future. So far, none of them have broken even on cost, and I’m not currently in a good place to fund new game art out of my own pocket. So unless I do releases with no art or music (like the first few demos of Blooming Nightshade), there probably won’t be a seventh game in the near future.
...That said, there is a sixth game’s worth of art that has already been made. I’m not ready to make an announcement with how hectic the development process has been, but I’m willing to put a little teaser here:

Other Projects
I’ve not forgotten about Mysteries of Akiramine or Those That Linger, as much as it would probably help me relax to have less to worry about. I’m not certain on how those will proceed, but I’m not ready to consider them canceled. I also have a number of unannounced ideas and side projects, as most creatives do, but nothing ready to share yet.
At any rate, that’s more than enough for a single post. Hopefully I can get back to more regular posts again, so I can go back to focusing on more specific topics in each post.
