Back during the development of Flowering Nightshade's first side stories for v7 onward (roughly 2021-ish), I briefly tried to become more active on social media to spread the word about the updates. While these promo images I made for Twitter (RIP) have some flaws (particularly in the text typesetting), I thought it might be nice to bring them back by posting them here.
Here are the teaser/promo images for the characters added in the updates:
Yae Imai (v7)
The beautiful and talented vocalist for the punk rock band "Last Witness". She projects an aura of power on the stage, but seems to fade into the background when not performing.
Yae has long kept to herself, unknowingly sabotaging her ability to form deeper connections with the people she meets due to fears of rejection or judgement. As such, not even her band knows much about her personal life. But when one of her secrets is found out by chance, she may have no choice but to decide which of her friends she can really trust.
Sakura Maruyama (v8)
A cafe barista. Her introverted nature has left her with few friends and made her unlucky at love.
Sakura's desperation for companionship leads to her agreeing to a sham relationship, hoping to build up experience for when the right person comes along. However, it isn't long before she finds the ruse to be more stressful than being single. Ultimately, Sakura may have to put her heart on the line to have a real chance for the happiness she seeks.
Kyoko Hayashi (v9)
Kyoko Hayashi is a programmer and the adoptive mother of two girls. She throws many off-balance with her playful personality, but can be serious when the situation requires it.
Having been raised in a flawed orphanage system, Kyoko spent much of her youth building herself up and raising another orphan. Despite her enthusiastic encouragement of her daughters' romantic experiences, her own love life has been on hold. Now that her daughters are in university, it may finally be time for Kyoko to focus on her personal desires.
Q: Why is there a teaser for version 9? There's been no word of any version 9 since 2023.
A: Weird... Maybe it's still on the docket. I'll see if I can uncover a release date somewhere.
